A business representative is an individual who is authorised to create a Tagvenue account or Stripe Connect account on behalf of themselves or a legal entity. It might be an executive, senior manager or someone who otherwise has significant responsibility for the control and management of your business.
Our payment provider, Stripe, is legally required to complete what is called a "KYC (Know Your Customer) Survey" for every User. This includes completing identity verification for the person who chooses to be the owner, administrator, or representative of a Stripe account. This is done for legal, compliance, and safety reasons.
Tagvenue and our Venues are bound to Stripe's Terms & Conditions and this verification step is required by our payment provider and their banking partners in order to support any User. That is why you will be asked about certain personal information during the onboarding process.
